A classic irish cottage pie made with lean irish beef mince and soft vegetables in a gentle gravy, topped with fluffy crushed potato. It doesn't get more familiar than this. The carrot running through the filling is doing real work! It's a really good source of vitamin A, which supports eyesight and immune health in growing children. The beef brings zinc, which is one of the most important minerals for development and one of the hardest to get enough of from a school lunch. the mashed potato keeps everything steady and comforting, and the whole dish comes in light enough that children aren't feeling too full after, just well fed.
